    The league-leading Raider boys notched two more wins last week. The Raiders defeated the Tonasket Tigers 86-48 in Tonasket on Jan. 28. Lake Roosevelt led 49-22 at the end of the first half before outscoring them 37-26 in the second. Leading scorers for the Raiders were Soarin’ Marchand, who led the Raiders with 15 points; Sam Wapato, who scored 14; and Kyle Edmo and CJ Saxon, who each scored 10.   • Grand Coulee wants to renegotiate USBR police contract

    The city of Grand Coulee wants to renegotiate a contract under which city police provide law enforcement services to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for nearly $600,000 a year. The city is currently operating on a six-month extension on a contract that expired in November of 2019, a contract in which the city’s police provide additional security at the Grand Coulee Dam.     The Lady Raiders defeated the Oroville Hornets 47-24 in a home game on Friday and crushed Bridgeport Monday, also in Coulee Dam. Audrey Hansen scored the most points against the Hornets for Lake Roosevelt with nine, followed by Ellie Hansen with eight and Jozlyn Hansen and Megan Abel, who added seven each.     The Central Washington 2B league is changing up a bit, most notably with the return of 1A school Okanogan to the 2B league due to a change in rules with the powers that be.     The Colville Tribes have banned single-use plastic bags from stores on the reservation, and the state is looking at doing the same. A resolution passed by the Colville Business Council went into effect Jan. 1 that bans single-use plastic bags from stores within the boundaries of the Colville Reservation, the Tribal Tribune reported Jan. 10.     Those excited for a park in Electric City will have to wait a while longer before park details and construction details are finalized. The Electric City council chose not to accept a bid on the proposed Ice Age Park at their Jan. 14 meeting, hoping to get construction costs down.     The sale of the Banks Lake Golf Course to Rattlesnake Ridge, Inc. has fallen through. The terms of the $1.8 million sale of the golf course and surrounding land, as well as equipment and buildings on 189.3 acres, was approved by Port District 7, which owns the course, back in June of 2019.     The Senior Meals Program wants you to know they have food to eat at the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center for people of all ages, and they'll deliver to seniors who qualify for delivery.
