  • Hoffman nominated for volunteer of the year

    Clea Pryor|Aug 23, 2017

I would like to nominate Cheryl Hoffman for volunteer of the year. I have only known Cheryl for a couple of years but have come to appreciate her very much. I have never been at an event that involved volunteer help that she has not been there — Senior Center events, Chamber events and Hospital Guild events (and probably others that I am not aware of). As president of Coulee Medical Center Guild, I have come to rely on Cheryl for help in many areas and have never been disappointed. She is always pleasant and willing to help in any way p...

  • Thanks for all the help on walk/run

    Clea Pryor|Oct 12, 2016

The first annual Breast Cancer fun walk/run was a success. Over 100 people registered for the event but due to other commitments and the cooler weather not all were able to participate. We would like to thank all our sponsors: monetary — A. J. Gerard, Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union and Costco (north Spokane branch). Food Donations: Safeway for the water, Ed’s Meats for wieners and Franz bread for the hot dog buns. Gift Certificates: Loepp Furniture, Hometown Pizza, Coulee Hardware, Pepper Jack’s, Café Espresso, Fusion Café, R&A Café, LaPresa,...

  • Thanks to Ridge Riders for an excellent event

    Clea Pryor|Jun 22, 2016

Once again, I would like to applaud the Ridge Riders for a very successful Memorial Bull Riding tribute event for my dad. A thank you also to the community for the support and attendance. It is very time-consuming to manage an event like this, and they did an excellent job with not a lot of members. Also, a clarification: I presented the belt buckle to the winner, but it was donated by my mother, Betty Lacy. Keep up the good work, the community needs you. Clea Pryor...

  • Young adults show strong leadership

    Clea Pryor|Jun 3, 2015

The Ridge Riders have completed another year of successful events for all us to enjoy. A big thank you to the entire membership for their hard work. I would especially like to thank the young adults who organized the Memorial Bull Riding for my dad. These people learned from and corrected mistakes that were made in the past to make this the best event to date. Not many people realize the work and hours that go into the planning of an event like this. Sev and Andrea Carden, Shane and others that helped with this production, a job well done. I ha...

  • Don't repeat the hospital's past

    Clea Pryor|Jan 29, 2014

As a lifelong member of this area and an employee of Coulee Medical Center, I feel I need to speak out about the current situation at the hospital. I was employed by a doctor in 1963. At that time the providers were forced to leave this area due to poor decisions made by the hospital administration. The result was the providers leaving this area and soon after, the closure of the hospital. I do not want that to happen again. Since moving into the new facility, administrative positions have greatly increased (more than double) while patient...
