    Raider Golf finished the season on Monday at home against Okanogan and Moses Lake Christian. Now they are preparing for the district tournament, which will take place at Banks Lake Golf Course next Tuesday. Those who qualify will move on to the state B golf tournament, which this year is at Sun Willows Golf Club in Pasco.     Raider track and field athletes completed the regular season Friday at the Ron Vanderholm Invitational tournament in Royal City. Today, they are heading to Tonasket where the District 6 portion of the Central Washington League Sub-District Tournament is being held. The top five move on from sub-districts to districts in Ephrata on May 22. At the Ron Vanderholm Invite, Katelynn Schilling set a new personal record and came home with another blue ribbon.     The Raiders travelled to Mansfield April 28 for the Iceberg Invitational and then to Oroville on May 2 for the Draggoo Financial-Oroville Invitational. The boys placed third overall at Mansfield with 68 team points. Raider girls took fifth overall with 20 team points. At Mansfield, Katelynn Schilling recorded two career personal records.     Raider Golf travelled to Okanogan Valley Golf Club Thursday for a match against Okanogan and Oroville. The boys’ medalist at the meet was Joey Staggs of Okanogan, who won with 92 strokes over the course. The girls’ medalist was Vanessa Venderweide, also of Okanogan, who shot a 108. Top performers for Lake Roosevelt were eighth-grader Darin Whiteman and Lucas Bird. Whiteman shot a 115 and Bird was right behind with a 116.     The Raider Baseball team took on the Pateros Billygoats in a doubleheader last week, adding two for their win column. Lake Roosevelt jumped ahead in both games at Pateros April 28, and held on to that lead to come home with two victories. Pateros tried to come back in the first game, but LR held them off.   • Raider tennis prepares for the late season stretch

    The Raider tennis team played two matches last week on the road. At Liberty Bell, the Raider boys picked up one win in a singles match. Cristian Ruiz defeated Fallen Hutson after two hours of play. The Raider girls won two matches. Areielle White won her singles match, and the duo of Mary Clark and Rylee Pitner won their doubles match. Harmony Witten, in singles, and the doubles team of Tanya Ang and Alaynah Herman came close to winning their matches.     The young Raider golf team is showing great improvement as the late season run begins, the coach said. The team competed at Moses Point April 20 and at Banks Lake Golf Course on Thursday. At Banks Lake, about 30 players attended from high schools in Oroville, Warden, Riverside Christian and Lake Roosevelt.     The Raiders played two doubleheaders last week, winning three of the four games. In a doubleheader at home against the Oroville Hornets April 21, the Raiders won both games by large margins. LR blanked the Hornets in the first game, 13-0, then scored 20 runs in route to a 20-6 win in game two. In Liberty Bell April 24, the Raiders played the first game close, but the Mt.     Kourtney Harrington pitched the entire first game against Oroville last week, throwing 162 pitches, seven strikeouts, and 10 walks. Lake Roosevelt’s team would lose both games to Oroville April 21 in Grand Coulee, but only by one point each. At the plate, LR recorded eight hits and 12 walks. Those hits included five runs batted in, and they stole 8 bases. But leaving eight runners on the basepaths hurt and led to the final score of 9-8 for Oroville in game one.     Raider baseball started last week with a 13-3 win over the Manson Trojans in Coulee Dam. It wasn't a forgone conclusion. Manson held the Raiders scoreless for two innings from their 4-1 deficit in the third inning, whittling the Lake Roosevelt lead to 4-3 by the fifth. Then the Raiders came alive, batting in loaded bases and even stealing home to add nine points, while allowing only two more for the struggling Trojans.     Raider track saw another successful day April 18 at the Quincy Invitational, where the good weather helped many to a great performance. “Every time an athlete performed, they achieved a season-best and many set personal records,” Head Coach Lori Adkins said. “It was an absolutely great day!” Octavio Alejandre improved his shot put mark for the season and came home the meet champion in the event.     Raider Golf continues to grow with the season as the young golfers gain experience. Eighth-grader Darin Whiteman impressed Head Coach Steve Files on April 15 at Oroville by shooting a 102 and finishing third overall on the 18-hole course.     The Lady Raider softball team defeated Manson last week by 10 runs, then suffered that fate twice against Okanogan on Saturday. At Grand Coulee, Lake Roosevelt defeated the Manson Trojans by 33-23 in a long game Thursday. Sean Garvin pitched one inning when she threw 72 pitches for three strikeouts and nine walks. Kourtney Harrington took the mound for two innings and threw 85 pitches for six strikeouts and four walks. Cassi Palmer also pitched, hurling 83 pitches for five strikeouts and eight walks.     The Raiders faced strong winds and tough tennis opponents last week, in two matches at home and one at White Swan.     The Raiders played four baseball games over spring break, winning one against the Colton Wildcats.     Last week was rough for the Lady Raiders, who took on the Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors March 31 and the Brewster Bears on Saturday. Both very successful teams proved to be a handful for Lake Roosevelt. "They had a tough week," Head Coach Jamie Lezard said. "Once it was over they had a tough time bouncing back up."     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders defeated the Warriors of Almira/Coulee-Hartline twice on March 31 at Greene Field in Coulee Dam. In the first game, the Raiders 10-runned the Warriors to win early by the mercy rule. But in the second game, the Raiders found themselves down 10 runs with time running out. LR rallied back with a nine-run fifth inning to make the score 15-14.     Raider tennis girls’ singles stayed on a winning streak last week, defeating Liberty Bell at home March 31 and Oroville on April 2, also at home. “The girls continued to dominate at first, second and third singles,” Head Coach Steve Archer said. “I’m very pleased with their consistency.” The Raider boys continue to grow as the season progresses.     Raider Track competed in its first two-meet week with a meet at Tonasket March 31, then in Deer Park April 3. “The Raider boys scored well in the sprints and throws,” Head Coach Lori Adkins said. “The team aspect of Track & Field was deep in those events.” At Tonasket, Nathaniel Hall took second in the 100-meter dash in 12.85 seconds.     The Raiders dominated the diamond in Coulee Dam Thursday, taking down the Manson Trojans 13-3 in Lake Roosevelt’s only contest of the week.     The Lady Raiders racked up positive stats in a home win last week, but rescheduled two other games they’d been set to play in Grand Coulee.
