Raider cross country ran into the toughest test of the early season last Saturday at the Runners Soul Invite in the Spokane Valley. Over 40 schools from Eastern Washington and North Idaho ran in the race. Lady Raider volleyball fought hard through fatigue and tough opponents last week as they played 19 games in three days. Raider football opened up their 2013 season at home last Friday, where the Davenport Gorillas used a 32-point second quarter to defeat LR 56-0. The Gorillas’ rushing attack was led by Faulkner, who scored three touchdowns, and backed up by Wilkie, who scored two more touchdowns and converted four two-point attempts. We decided to retire here 15 years ago. Fishing and golfing were our favorite things. Four seniors and two freshmen made the All Central Washington North 2B All League Baseball team from this season’s Raider squad that finished with a 12-win, nine-loss record. Senior Brady Black received “Pitcher of the Year” honors from the Central Washington 2B North. Three Lake Roosevelt Raiders competed at the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires state golf tournament at Oakbrook Country Club May 21-22. After taking the District 5-6 championship a week earlier, Tanceia Stanczak was in her third state tournament and was looking to improve from last year's mark while competing in field of 40 athletes. LR Babe Ruth started their summer season last week as they took on Omak May 14 for a single game at Greene Field.
