The Lady Raiders did not play Waterville on Sept. 12 as previously stated. The match has been rescheduled to tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. at Gailord Nelson gym, at Lake Roosevelt. Raider cross country opened their season at Tonasket last Saturday. Head Coach Gary Darnold was pleased with the way the runners competed at the opening race of the season. “The race in Tonasket showed me that our team has the desire to compete,” Darnold said. Raider football opened up their 2013 season at home last Friday, where the Davenport Gorillas used a 32-point second quarter to defeat LR 56-0. The Gorillas’ rushing attack was led by Faulkner, who scored three touchdowns, and backed up by Wilkie, who scored two more touchdowns and converted four two-point attempts. LR Babe Ruth started their summer season last week as they took on Omak May 14 for a single game at Greene Field. Jacob Palmer had the only base bit for LR, as Omak went on to win in six innings, 13-3. Coach Jeremy Miller said many of the middle school-age players showed signs of first game jitters. Raider track completed its regular season on Friday at Liberty Bell, with many of the athletes surpassing personal records and placing themselves in position to compete at sub-districts.
