    Octavio Alejandre and Chyenne Kelly-Marconi both placed for the Raiders at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association State 2B Track and Field meet in Cheney last week. At the meet, held at Eastern Washington University, Octavio Alejandre excelled for LR in the shot put. In the prelims, Alejandre had thrown only 43 feet, 5.5 inches, far short of his personal record of 46 feet-plus, and shorter still from the 48-foot goal he had set for himself at state.     Five Lake Roosevelt Raider baseball players have been named to the Central Washington 2B North All-League teams. Two were members of the 2013 All-League teams. Devan Black was named to the First Team All CWL 2B North. Last season Black was named to the Second Team. Black continues to improve with an excellent season pitching, catching, and playing infield utility. Chance Garvin was named to the CWL 2B North Second Team for 2014.     Three Raiders came home as District 5-6 champions Saturday and will compete at the state track and field tournament at Eastern Washington University Friday and Saturday. “I knew it was going to be a great meet when we started off with three district championships!” exclaimed Head Coach Lori Adkins on the field event championships in Ephrata.     Three Lady Raider softball players have been named to the Central Washington 2B North All-League squads for the 2014 season. Lake Roosevelt freshman Tristen Adolph was named to the First Team CWL 2B North because of her pitching and base running ability.     Raider Tennis competed in District 6 Tournament at Cashmere last week, where their season came to an end.     Raider golf came up short at the the District 5-6 Golf Tournament at Lake Chelan Golf Course May 20, so no Raider golfer will advance to the state tournament this season.     Raider golf closed the regular season May 13 at home against Moses Lake Christian and Columbia Basin Secondary. Austin Rosenbaum posted his best score of the season, shooting an 89 over 18 holes to be the boys’ medalist. Madisyn Byam was a close second in girls competition to Isabella Murrell of MLCA with a score of 111.     Lake Roosevelt’s baseball team finished the 2014 season Monday at Wenatchee Valley Juinor College in a loser-out game against White Swan. The Raiders kept it close but could not beat the Cougars in the end. The Cougars ended the Raiders season in 2013 in the same early morning loser out game.     Lady Raider softball dropped all three of their games last week. At Oroville May 6, the Lady Raiders lost to the Hornets by a close score. On the mound, Tristen Adolph continued her streak of solid performances, striking out eight batters and giving up only four walks. Some 68 percent of Adolph’s 124 pitches were strikes. Adolph along with Savannah Marin had a good day at the plate, going three for four.     Raider golfers competed in their last two events of the 2014 season May 6 at Oroville and last night at Banks Lake Golf Course. At Oroville, the Raiders competed against a large Hornet squad and a lone Tonasket Tiger. On the 18-hole course the Hornets came away the victors on the boys’ side. For the girls it was a close contest, but they were scored as individuals as only five girls competed in the match.     Raider Track finished the regular season with athletes placing in two meets. The LR boys finished sixth overall in the Bridgeport Invite May 6, with 42 team points. The girls’ squad took ninth with 41 team points.     The Lady Raiders started last week with a big win over the Manson Trojans April 29. The game was over in the third inning due to the mercy rule. Four Lady Raiders batted perfectly against the Trojans: Roxanne Belgarde hit four for four; Baylee Daniels, Kassidi Boutain, and Tristen Adolph all went three for three.     Raider Track traveled to Mansfield for the makeup Iceberg Invite on April 29. The Raider boys’ team finished fourth overall and the girls took home fifth for the small meet that was a tuneup for the Raiders for the invite on May 3 in Oroville. The Draggoo Financial Invite there featured a 14-school field with many Caribou Trail League and Central Washington B schools. LR boys finished 10th overall with 12 team points.     LR’s tennis team rebounded from a total loss early last week with a sweep and a half at the start of May. At Okanogan April 29, the Raiders were swept, both boys and girls, by the Bulldogs.     The Raiders extended their win streak to five games last week with wins at home and away. Lake Roosevelt took on the Hornets at Greene Field April 29, but Oroville did not roll over easily.
