Position Opening in Certified Staffing 2024/2025 School Year High School Teacher Subjects: Spanish.33 FTE/Continuing  Job Summary The Wilbur School District is seeking a team member who can effectively educate students by helping high school students be successful in their Spanish language development. They will use diverse and interesting methods to support learning.  They will support the students by fostering critical thinking skills needed to learn a new language. We are looking for a team member who is able to foster curiosity, creativity, and compassion in children-all while helping them develop a lifelong love of learning. Qualifications Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) as required by law and regulation, or ability to obtain said Washington State teaching certificate prior to start date. Successful passing of the fingerprint process and background check Essential Criteria Demonstrate ability to design and implement effective, relevant and engaging instruction at the high school level. Experience in developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum adaptation, higher level thinking skills and alternative assessment techniques. Prepares students for later academics by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks. Experience with organizing and leading activities designed to promote critical thinking, problem solving skills, and collaboration among students. Exhibit strong skills in the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff. Maintains and submit student records and progress in a timely manner, and willingness to communicate student progress with parents/guardian/caretaker. Maintain professionalism by being a strong role model for students, by actively participating in professional development activities and demonstrating a commitment to school wide goals and practices. Willingness to be a key member of a functioning member of our Leadership teams/philosophies. Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by administration. Desired Criteria Experience and training in social skills program models. Hold a Spanish endorsement or are willing to work towards certification. Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with staff, students and parents. Experience designing and implementing Specially Designed Instruction. Experience providing direction and feedback to multiple support staff (i.e. para-educators).
