    Lake Roosevelt’s seniors are headed to California for their special school year-end trip. The proposal was presented to the Grand Coulee Dam School District directors Monday night by Associated Student Body President Devan Black, and after a brief discussion, the board approved the request to travel. The board learned that 25 seniors are eligible to make the trip. They will leave Sunday, May 29, and return Tuesday, May 31.     Board member honored Members of the Lake Roosevelt school board were given certificates honoring member services as part of “School Board Appreciation Month.” The certificates were given out by uperintendent Dr. Dennis Carlson. District buys used bus The school board approved the purchase of a 27-passenger bus that had been declared surplus by the Chelan School District for $3,000 on Monday night.     Grand Coulee 1/17 - A Davenport, Washington, woman told police that her vehicle was struck while parked at Safeway. The suspect vehicle was gone when police arrived. 1/18 - An Electric City driver was stopped by police on Lincoln Avenue when the officer noticed his vehicle did not have a license plate or trip permit.     OLYMPIA-When a fire broke out in Asotin County last summer, Noel Hardin said a delay in state resources led to a bigger, more costly blaze. The fire chief for District 1 in the county says that by the time the fire was contained it cost $2 million to fight, but could have been much cheaper with faster support from the state.
