A New York Times columnist had dropped in at Flo's some years ago while in the area hunting. The reporter was captured by the rows of hunting caps and coffee mugs. This was all shared with Times readers. "I had a reporter from the Portland...

  • Advocating for Eastern Washington Veterans

    Cathy McMorris Rodgers|Mar 25, 2015

Not a day goes by when I don’t hear from veterans in our community who are struggling – struggling to access quality care, and struggling with a bureaucratic system that continues to fail them. That is unacceptable. We should be honoring the men and women who have dutifully served our country, not making them feel like a burden. That’s why I am working in Congress to advocate for veterans across Eastern Washington – veterans like Pearl Harbor survivor Bud Garvin, who celebrated his 100th birthday this year. An American hero, Bud invaded...

Well, we locals know that out along the shoreline in Electric City is a slightly hidden place named after the many birds that make their nests in the clay cliffs. Many a dirt clod fight was had there, and a few injuries as well, but I am here to write about the fort today. The fort was dug out by someone before my brothers and me, but we accepted...

The Fillies had an offensive edge on the Lady Raiders. In the first game, Lake Roosevelt scored 10 runs but gave up 21. In the second, the Fillies tallied up 18 to the Lady Ra...
