  • First chamber crab feed a hit

    Joanne Eagle and Janet O'Neil do a little dance after having served the majority of the more than 90 who turned out for the first crab feed put on by the Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce Saturday.     The Lake Roosevelt Lady Raiders dominated in softball for the second week in a row, going 4-0 for their season win-loss record, to sit on top of the Central Washington 2B league rankings, just above the 3-1 Liberty Bell team.     Jimmy Easling passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017. He was born April 27, 1945, in Mason City Hospital in Coulee Dam, Washington, to James and Evelyn Easling. He graduated from Coulee Dam High School in 1963, and went on to join the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey for nine months of electrical warfare equipment repair school.     Raider tennis lost as a team in Liberty Bell on Thursday, but there were some wins at the individual level. The boys lost 4-1 in their matches, and the girls lost 3-2 against the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions. In the boys’ singles, Aidan Derr lost 6-0 in both sets against Jesse Schultz; Bradley Wilder lost 6-3, 6-2 against Alex Whites; and Cristian Ruiz lost 6-4, 6-1 against Isaac Blodgett.     The Lake Roosevelt track and field team competed at the Ray Cross Invitational in Ephrata on Saturday. The police stated that they had been to the house earlier and found the doors open and secured them at that time.     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders baseball team had to forfeit their doubleheader against Bridgeport on Saturday due to only having eight players. “We had a family issue and weren’t able to field a full team,” said Levi Seekins, athletic director for LR. The team was still able to play Oroville yesterday in Coulee Dam, results of which will be in next week’s Star.
