  • Lady Raiders pick up first win

    The Lady Raiders racked up positive stats in a home win last week, but rescheduled two other games they’d been set to play in Grand Coulee. They were able to play the Trojans of Manson on Thursday, when they picked up their first win of the new season. “There’s been a lot of improvements since the first game,” Head Coach Jamie Lezard said, “We just have to keep working on the fundamentals of the game and improve on a daily basis and everything will be OK.” The final score in the game was 11-1, ending in the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.... Full story

  • Raider golfers to work on consistency

    Raider golf started Thursday with a home opening match against Omak. In girls’ competition, Jonell Denchel won the match for Lake Roosevelt, shooting a 62. The medalists for the boys in the match were Cameron D. of Omak and Brandon A. of Omak. Each shot a 44 at Banks Lake Golf Course. “This was the first competitive high school match for everyone on the squad,” commented Raider Head Coach Steve Files. “They all stepped up and represented themselves and our school very well.” Files said the good weather has allowed the team to get out on the co... Full story

  • Track improves at Colville

    Two Raiders placed at the Ezra Gordon Invitational last Saturday in Colville, and many others showed positive improvements. Two Lake Roosevelt shot put throwers laid their claims to podiums in the meet, one girl and one boy. Octavio Alejandre took home first place in the shot, throwing 46 feet, 9 inches, an improvement of 8 inches over his throw last week. In the discus, Alejandre did not place but threw 108-11.   • Raider tennis scores winning week

    Raider Tennis competed in three matches last week with a great deal of success. “They are all very competitive and regularly push each other at practices to improve,” Head Coach Steve Archer said. “I am hopeful that each week we will continue to see their improvement.” In their matches last week, the Raider boys defeated Wilbur-Creston on March 23 by 4-1, then beat Davenport 4-1 on Friday. Oroville handed the Raider boys their only loss of the week Wednesday. The Raider girls defeated all three opponents, setting up a great start to the season.... Full story

    Grand Coulee Police 3/22 - Safeway advised the police that there had been a vehicle prowl in its parking lot. A woman said that someone had taken prescriptions. The woman’s husband said the vehicle was locked and there was no way anyone could have gotten into the vehicle. They told police that they didn’t want to report the incident. - An Electric City man was banned from Coulee Medical Center for the second time after he went to the clinic complaining of an earache, then stayed in the lobby for six hours after treatment.
