  • New-school meeting with state went well

    Roger Lucas|May 9, 2012

Getting the state’s attention, is one thing, keeping it is another. School Superintendent Dennis Carlson and new-school architect Laurence Rose both had encouraging remarks after meeting with officials in the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction last week. Their task was to convince state officials that the district here is really on the fast track for getting its K-12 new school project started. At issue is whether state school officials will see this project as “shovel ready”. The state education office has a certain routi... Full story

Raider baseball sits in a three-way tie atop the Central Washington 2B North going into the last week of play. The series was supposed to be against Oroville, but Oroville had players with off-the-field issues and was forced to cancel the series. Luckily, Almira-Coulee-Hartline was available to play a doubleheader last Tuesday at Greene Field. The Raiders won both games by close margins. The Warriors were right there with LR through both games, losing the first by a score of 2-1 and dropping the... Full story

  • Golf match cut short

    John McNeil II|May 9, 2012

The Raider golf match at home on Thursday was cut short because of the wet weather. There were no official scores and there are no plans to reschedule — now that district play starts Monday in Chelan starting at 10 a.m. Before then, the Raider golf team travelled to Oroville yesterday to take on Waterville and Oroville in a final tune-up match. As districts approach, Head Coach Steve Files recognized the effort put out by a particular player. “Our senior leader, Drew Desautel has been consistently strong all season,” Files said. “Week in and... Full story

  • Lady Raiders close with A-C-H

    John McNeil II|May 9, 2012

The Lady Raider softball team closed the rocky 2012 season with a home doubleheader against the Warriors last Tuesday at Grand Coulee. Almire-Coulee-Hartline fields a strong squad with an overall record of 12-1 coming into the doubleheader. With depletions to their roster, the Lady Raiders struggled in the field and were defeated by the Warriors by the scores of 30-0 and 24-2. Head Coach Tristan Daniels does not know about the possibility of the Lady Raiders playing in districts next week. The... Full story

Phoenix Shephard won his match 8-4 and Nick Rice defeated Fernandez 8-3. For the girls, it was another frustrating set of matches as Emily Williams lost to Samantha Dowers by the close score of 8-5.
