    Four Raider golfers will be competing today at the district tournament, which is being held at Alta Lake Golf Course. To make it there, the Raiders played in the last match of the season May 11 at home against Okanogan and Moses Lake Christian. Moses Lake Christian won the match with a total score of 379. The first place for the boys was a tie between Billy Norwell of Okanogan and Sam Roeber of MLCA with 86 strokes.     Lake Roosevelt’s tennis players had their 2015 season come to a close Saturday at the first round of the district tournament. Only one team made it out of the single elimination round. That was the doubles team of Tanya Ang and Riley Pitner. Ang and Pitner came back from a 4-7 deficit against the Butler sisters of Liberty Bell to win 9-7.     Lady Raider softball ended its season at Pateros May 15 with two losses. The final overall win-loss record for LR was 2-18 with a 2-14 Central Washington North record. “We have a very young team returning to next year’s roster, only losing two seniors,” Head Coach Jamie Lezard on the season and what he hopes to see in 2016. “We hope that we have a great turnout next season, and we are excited (for) the newcomers and looking forward to the next season.” On May 12 at home the Lady Raiders had hosted to the Tonasket Tigers for Senior Night.     COULEE DAM—The Grand Coulee Dam School District approved five resignations and one hire at its meeting last Wednesday night. Resigning were Lisa Vaughn, music teacher; Randi Heizer, paraprofessional for speech in the elementary school; LaLaina Caddy, paraprofessional in the elementary school; Barbara Mooney and Julie Hart, both bus drivers. The lone hire was Loren Endsley, secondary PE/Strength teacher.     Certainly, California has rewritten the definition for “dry.” Yet, here in Washington (Oregon too) we are beginning to create our own heightened definition too. On the state level, Governor Inslee made more drought declarations on April 17. More than one half of the state is now listed in one of three categories, starting with abnormally dry here.     Gardening Diagnostic Clinics have begun at the WSU Okanogan County Extension Office. Diagnostic clinics are a public service offered to the community by the WSU Okanogan County Master Gardener volunteers. Master Gardeners assist backyard and non-commercial gardeners with a variety of gardening issues, including insect and plant disease identification.
