Chyenne Kelly-Marconi capped her track season by placing third in the triple jump at the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires 2013 1B, 2B, 1A Track and Field Championships at Eastern Washington University last Friday. The six points Kelly-Marconi scored for the Lake Roosevelt Raiders were the only points LR would score at the meet. The junior took that prize recording a triple jump of 33 feet and a quarter inch. Three Lake Roosevelt Raiders competed at the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires state golf tournament at Oakbrook Country Club May 21-22. After taking the District 5-6 championship a week earlier, Tanceia Stanczak was in her third state tournament and was looking to improve from last year's mark while competing in field of 40 athletes. The Lady Raiders made their second-ever trip to the state softball tournament last weekend. The weather at the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires 2013 2B State Softball Championships in Yakima did not cooperate on Friday, and all games were delayed till Saturday. In the first game of the day, LR faced defending state champion Pe Ell, which showed no mercy to the Lady Raiders, defeating them 28-2. Grand Coulee Police 5/20 - A barking dog brought police to Hill Avenue, where the officer told the dog’s owner that he needed to keep it from barking and keeping neighbors awake. 5/21 - Police recovered a vehicle stolen in Soap Lake, finding it at a Yakima Avenue residence in Delano. The driver of the car fled. However, officers know the driver and have referred the matter to the Grant County Prosecutor.
