The Grand Coulee Dam School District board approved a number of hires at its Monday night meeting. Anne Cain, from Monitor, Wash., was hired as a third kindergarten teacher. Karmen Cecil, who taught fifth grade last year in the middle school, was hired as a developmental preschool teacher. Andrea Sperberg, from Spanaway, was hired as counselor at Lake Roosevelt High School. The Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association has awarded their 2013 scholarships in the amount of $500 each to Andrew McClure and Hillary Carriere, Lake Roosevelt High School graduating seniors. Andrew wants to become an architect and will attend Walla Walla Community College in the fall, and later plans to pursue his degree at WSU.
