    Lake Roosevelt football began pre-season workouts this month with new Head Coach Steve Files introducing changes he brings to Raider football. Files was an assistant last year at LR and has coached football since 1984 at his alma mater 4A Newport (Bellevue), Lake Washington, and Bothell High Schools. Joining Files as assistants are Joe Tynan and Brandon White. Both were assistants last year.     Three local students who participated in Big Bend Community College’s General Education Development (GED) Preparation program reached their goal of earning GED certificates during the 2011-12 academic year.     by Roger S. Lucas The Grand Coulee Dam School District’s surplus and garage sale has netted some $11,336.24, Superintendent Dennis Carlson told the board Monday night. Two sales made up the bulk of the money with the disposal of two portable classroom buildings at A.E. Wright Elementary School, and a bus purchased by a Utah sheriff. The portables, 24 by 36 feet, were purchased by the Colville Indian College at the agency, for $3,600. The bus, estimated to have a $750 trade-in value, was purchased for $5,400.     Coulee Dam 6/11 - A man who said he was wanted on a warrant turned himself in at the police department. Dispatch confirmed the warrant from Douglas County. He was taken to Okanogan County Jail. 6/12 - A woman was stopped for following another vehicle too closely. Upon checking, the officer found that the woman’s driver’s license was suspended. The woman was warned on following too close, failing to transfer title, for not having a valid insurance card and not having her driver’s license on her person.
