    Grand Coulee Police 8/4 - A woman on Goodfellow in Electric City told police that she thought her live-in boyfriend was making homemade explosives in the laundry room. Police found cardboard tubes and multiple small kegs of black and gun powder. She said her boyfriend had a compound in Omak where she said he had a “bunker type” structure half buried in the ground.     Grand Coulee Library has had a great Summer Reading Program this year with programs and activities that focused on dreams, wishes, hopes and aspirations, said Librarian Joette Barry. “Dream Big! Read!” will end this week, so to end the summer Grand Coulee Library is “Chasing a Dream” and “Going for the Gold” in the final week.     The SHARP Kids program announced that morning and after-school programs will start Tuesday Aug. 28. At Lake Roosevelt High School, the Raider SHARP Morning Program 7:30-8:30 a.m. (Monday-Friday) will focus on homework, tutoring, and organizational skills. “This is a great opportunity for student athletes needing a little extra time to get work done before afternoon practice,” noted program director Lee Seekins.     The Grand Coulee Dam Cooperative Preschool will start its school year Tuesday, Sept 4. Preschool gives kids a head start academically and socially and improves readiness for school. Eligible kids will be three by December 1 and potty trained. Three-year-olds will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30-11 a.m. starting Sept. 4.
