  • Happy crowds attend Harvest Festival

    With weather nearly ideal, despite a little wildfire smoke, moods were upbeat all around for the Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest Festival last weekend. The event drew in 200 registrants for the Run the Dam foot race, gained a powwow hosted by Coulee Medical Center and showed local wannabe barbecuers what real meat tastes like at a sanctioned barbecue contest.     Grand Coulee 9/10 - After receiving a complaint about the excessive noise, police asked a man on Stevens Avenue in Electric City to turn down the volume on a football game. 9/11 - A woman told police that a black and white dog that was loose ran up to her and she felt threatened by it. 9/12 - Police assisted a Coulee Dam officer who was taking an intoxicated woman to jail after the vehicle she was driving was damaged.
