    The Lady Raiders lost a couple of matches this past week, but took bronze at a tournament in Ephrata. In Manson on Oct. 9, the Lady Raiders lost in three sets, with Manson winning 25-20, 25-21, 25-15. “We served great, making 51 of 57 as a team,” said Head Coach Teri Sue Reed. “Gloria Michel and Jozlyn Hansen stood out in the back row with breakout games.     The Raider cross country team had a busy week, finishing their regular season at meets in Bridgeport and Oroville, and getting ready for the league championship in Liberty Bell this Saturday. In Bridgeport Oct. 9, the Raiders ran at Lake Woods Golf Course. “Bridgeport was a tough one,” remarked Coach Travis Adams. “The course had really long grass that was damp and hard to run on.     The Lady Raiders lost two games this past week, against Brewster and Tonasket. On Oct. 9 at home, the Brewster Bears beat the Lady Raiders 7-0. Then on Thursday in Tonasket, the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Raiders 11-1. The Lady Raiders played yesterday at home with Oroville, results of which will be printed in next week's Star.   • Harvest festival coming for fundraiser

    A “Harvest Festival” is being organized by several groups as a fundraiser at Lake Roosevelt Schools for Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will include a costume contest, a “Trunk or Treat” feature, a meal, and unlimited games. The Grand Coulee Dam PTA, the Johnson O’Malley program, the Lake Roosevelt Elementary Associated Student Body and others are putting on the festival.
