Joyce Marilyn Amenell passed away March 26, 2021, after a battle with dementia. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Frederick and Hilda Miller on August 2, 1935. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953, and from the University of Nebraska in 1957. She became a schoolteacher taking her as far away to Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. Students at Lake Roosevelt Schools will attend in person more than they have in a year, following the passage by the school board of a new schedule aimed at accomplishing increased face time with teachers and peers, even with masks.
