    Grand Coulee’s new mayor, Mike Eylar, has proposed a joint meeting with the city councils of four local cities. Eylar brought the idea up at the Regional Board of Mayors meeting Wednesday. He said he and many local elected officials attended a training at Grand Coulee City Hall recently when he was surprised to see many officials from other cities there too. “It was exciting to have a good portion of the various city councils in attendance,” he said.     Grand Coulee Police 1/29 - Police saw a Nissan Maxima in the ditch near the rodeo grounds on Alcan Road. The car was unoccupied but police were able to contact the registered owner who lives nearby on Cardinal Road. The owner explained that he had arranged for a friend to help tow the car out of the ditch, but who, because of the fog, wouldn’t be able to help until the next morning.     Grand Coulee Police 12/27 -The city clerk told police that someone claiming they were a city official told Grant PUD that trees on Partello Parkway needed trimming or to be cut down for the beautification of Grand Coulee. Police spoke to a PUD employee who explained that the PUD does trim and cut trees that have been trimmed before and that these trees did need to be trimmed again.
