    After more than 60 years of Raider/Beaver/Tiger dominance over Bridgeport in football, the Mustangs are now getting even. Last Friday they notched their second win in a row over the Raiders. With the 34-12 loss, the Raiders dropped to 1-9 overall, and finish sixth in Central Washington 2B play.     Senior Night was spoiled for the Raiders as the White Swan Cougars scored often and cut short many Raider drives for a 54-20 victory on LR’s home field Friday night.     The Raiders lost to Liberty Bell 12-6 last Friday at Liberty Bell. The Mt. Lions’ homecoming victory keeps them in the hunt for a playoff spot, making their game against White Swan the decider for who takes the numbers two and three spots for playoffs.     Joyce Irene McCorkle, 89, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at her home in Smelterville. She was born April 17, 1923, in Edmonton, England, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Ida (Carter) Hills. Joyce attended and graduated from Freemantle High School of Freemantle, Western Australia.     The Raiders were outplayed Friday by the Oroville Hornets in Oroville, losing 45-19. The loss dropped Lake Roosevelt to one win, two losses in league play and 1-6 overall.     The Raiders recorded their first victory of the 2012 season in Friday night’s homecoming win over the Manson Trojans, 45-27.     The Lady Raiders came off a week where they were outscored by the Pateros Nannies 83-4 in three games. The bats were more active last week but the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions still racked up 67 runs to the ladies’ 13. In the first game on Tuesday, the Lady Raiders were plagued with errors that lead to several easy runs for the Mountain Lions. The final score was LB 28, LR 6.
