The Coulee Dam All Class Reunion will be held the weekend of June 21 (Friday), June 22 (Saturday), and June 23 (Sunday), 2024 with catered dinners at the Lake Roosevelt High School Gym on Friday and Saturday nights, and a picnic at Spring Canyon on Sunday. Grand Coulee Police 2/21 - Police received a report of two males yelling at each other and a female crying on Wenatchee Avenue. Grand Coulee Police 2/12 - A loose dog was reported on Grand Coulee Avenue. The dog had been rounded up by the family that owns it prior to an officer arriving. The officer has to see the dog loose in order to issue an infraction. Every Wednesday we will be tying quilts at Zion Lutheran Church for the months of January and February. The group will start at 9am. Bring a sack lunch if you want to. One half of quilts will go to the Support Center and the other half to World Relief. We do keep 2 to 4 quilts at the church which were given to the family’s that just lost their home. The Soup Suppers began on Ash Wednesday, February 14th at 6:00 PM and will continue each Wednesday for 6 weeks until March 20. Lent is the 40 day period of reflection and renewal leading up to Easter, which is on Sunday, March 31st this year. Homemade soup and breads will be served, followed by a Bible study. The church is inviting anyone in the community who is interested. Come join us for good food and fellowship....

Grand Coulee 2/7 - The Moose Lodge was found to be secure after an alarm went off there. 2/8 - Police responded to a call regarding a man being on Wenatchee Avenue which is less than 1,000 feet from a Yakima Street residence. The man is restricted from coming within 1,000 feet of that residence due to a protection order. Police searched the area for the man but were unsuccessful in finding him. Grand Coulee Police 1/29 - Police saw a Nissan Maxima in the ditch near the rodeo grounds on Alcan Road. The car was unoccupied but police were able to contact the registered owner who lives nearby on Cardinal Road. The owner explained that he had arranged for a friend to help tow the car out of the ditch, but who, because of the fog, wouldn’t be able to help until the next morning. The dog has been running loose multiple times, and an officer saw it take an aggressive posture and bark at him, then seem to calm down when he called it by name. Rod Broadnax will remain the superintendent of the Grand Coulee Dam School District for another three years following an offer by the school board Monday to extend his contract. Broadnax accepted the offer, which included a lift in pay from $142,000 a year to $160,000, plus cost-of-living increases.
