Grand Coulee Dam area residents may dispose of household hazardous waste for free on Friday, May 13 from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Delano Regional Transfer Station. This event is for waste generated by households only. Participants must remain in their vehicles and all waste must be in the trunk or the bed of a pickup. Containers will not be returned. Grand Coulee Police 4/26 - A vehicle hit the base of a light post near the Riley Point overlook just below Grand Coulee Dam. The driver stated she was distracted while looking at the dam when the accident occurred. 4/29 - Police located a vehicle stolen out of Nespelem parked at the casino and observed a puppy in the passenger seat. Coulee Dam Police 4/24 - A man on Cedar Street told police that someone had gone through his pickup truck and that the glove compartment was open. The man didn’t report anything of his taken, but explained that his neighbor had had a chainsaw taken out of his pickup. The neighbor told police the chainsaw was valued at about $400-$500 and that a jacket and coat were also missing but found laying on the ground nearby.
