NPS offers youth work
Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is accepting applications for the 2012 summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program.
Ten enrollees and leader positions will be recruited. These positions will be located at Spring Canyon, Keller Ferry, Fort Spokane, Gifford, Evans and Kettle Falls.
Positions are open to those over 15, who won’t reach 19 years of age during their employment from about June 18 through August 11.
Enrollees will be paid a minimum wage for a 40-hour work week. YCC enrollees who have participated for more than 3 weeks in the past will not be considered for the enrollee program, but will be considered for the leader positions.
To apply, contact the National Park Service or a local high school for a YCC application form between Feb. 15 and March 31.

Dinner will
benefit

Pepper Jack’s Bar and Grille will hold a benefit dinner for cook Mark Chandler, who recently had a quintuple bypass surgery.
The all-you-can-eat spread will include spaghetti, salad bar and garlic bread for $10 for adults, $5 children 10 and under.
The even is set for Sunday, Feb. 26, from noon to 6 p.m.
For those that can’t attend but would like to donate, can do so at NCNB.
