Famous bull riders plan to attend event

Rodeo fans will want to take advantage of the Ridge Rider’s Banquet and Auction April 2, and get to meet some of the world’s premium bull riders, including the world champion from Grand Coulee, Shane Proctor.

The banquet and auction is a new feature for the Ridge Riders and currently tickets are on sale through George Kohout (631-0018) and Monty Fields (633-3319). Ticket costs are $30 for an individual and $50 a couple.

The event is scheduled at the Vets Center in Electric City, beginning with a social hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a prime rib dinner and auction to follow.

Proctor, the star of the event, won the Professional Cowboy Rodeo Assocoation bull riding title last year and promises to bring several of his bull riding buddies with him for the banquet and auction.

In addition to Proctor, other bull riders who have indicated that they will try to be here are J.B. Mauney, Ben Jones, Ty Pozzobon, and Stormy Wing.

Proctor puts on a bull-riding clinic for kids in Nespelem each spring, and the Ridge Riders have timed their event to his arrival.

Some of the auction items can be viewed in a front window at Loepp Furniture on Grand Coulee’s Main Street.

The banquet event is part of an expanded Ridge Riders agenda this year which includes a riding clinic March 31-April 3, and two Ranch Rodeos.
