Chamber to Meet

The Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon on Thursday, April 19, at Pepper Jack’s Bar and Grille. On the agenda is Colorama.

Lincoln County Fire Dist. 9 to Meet

Lincoln County Fire District 9 will hold its regular meeting on Thursday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the Nazarene Church outside of Grand Coulee on hwy 174.

CMC Hospital Guild to Meet

The Coulee Medical Center Hospital Guild will meet Thursday, April 19, at the Melody Restaurant in Coulee Dam. A no host luncheon begins at 11 a.m. and the meeting will follow from noon - 1 p.m. The yearly dues are $5.00 . The group needs new members and new ideas. They meet the third Thursday of the month.

Flag Dedication Time

The Isle of Flags is looking for those who want to dedicate a deceased veteran’s flag. The deadline is May 16. For more information contact Ben Alling at 633-0663.

TOPS Guest Speaker

Gail Bent, a TOPS member, will be a guest speaker at the Grand Coulee TOPS 1524 on Tuesday, April 24, at 9:15 a.m. at the Grand Coulee Senior Center and at TOPS #1528 Wilbur at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the Wilbur Community Presbyterian Church. Bent has lost 203 pounds to goal and has mainatained this loss for seven years. She was TOPS Washington State’s Queen in 2004 and TOPS International Runner-Up Queen in 2004. She went from a size 5X to size 4/6. She has written a book “Get a Brian Transplant, It’s not a Diet, It’s a Life Style Change.”

The public is welcome to attend any of these meetings.

Eagles #2577 Meetings

The Eagles #2577 Aerie meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. The Auxiliary meets the first and third Tuesday of every month. Next meeting is scheduled for May 1..

Free Pinochle at the Seniors

Free pinochle is offered at the Grand Coulee Senior Center Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 1 p.m.

Them Dam Writers Meet

Them Dam Writers meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The meetings are held from 1-3:30 p.m. in the art room at the senior center. The next meeting will be April18 (today).

Care and Share Food Bank Open

The food bank at the Church of the Nazarene normal operating hours are Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m. It is located at the Church of Nazarene, hwy 174, Grand Coulee. The bank still can use clean plastic grocery bags.

Library Story Time

The Grand Coulee Library Story time is every Friday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Mondays and Thursdays 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays 12:30 - 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Local AA Meetings

Confused in the Coulee AA meetings are held on Mondays at 7 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.. at the Vets Center in Electric City. Call Paul 633-3377 days or 633-3345 evenings. New Hope Group meetings are held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Vets Center. For more information call John 633-2448. These are open, non-smoking and handicap accessible.

In Nespelem the group Bound and Determined holds its meetings Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Catholic Church. Contact Myrna 634-4921 for more information there.

Seniors Have Wheelchairs, Crutches Available

Through the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center a program is available to members and other persons who for a short time need a wheel chair, walkers, crutches, canes, bath stools and other items of this type.

For those who have any of the above items that are from the center and no longer used please return. If you have any of the above items in good condition and would like to donate them to the center, it would be extremely appreciated. For those who cannot deliver, pickup is available.
