Raider track travelled to Oroville on Thursday for the District 6 Sub District meet to determine who would move on to the Central Washington 2B Districts meet this Saturday at Eastmont High School.
All members of the Raiders were allowed to compete in their events, but only the top four finishers would move on to the District meet.
Kim Barry will be moving on in all four events in which she competed. She finished first in the 400-meter run in 62.43 seconds, in the 800 (2:28.41), the 1600 (5:34.39), and in the 3200 in 11:33, a season personal record.
Cheyenne Kelly-Marconi will also compete in four events. She finished fourth in the 100 hurdles with a PR of 18.47, second in the 300 low hurdles at 52.72, second in the long jump with the leap of 14 feet, and second in the triple jump at 31 feet, 6.25 inches.
The speedster Nick Gleason will move on in three events as he placed third in both the 100 (12.20 sec) and the 200 (24.29 sec). Gleason will also represent the Raiders in the pole vault as he finished first in sub districts, clearing the 9-6 standard.
Jesse Adkins and Sean Waters both move on in two events. Adkins in both hurdle races as he finished first in the 110 (16.11) and second in the 300 intermediates in 41.69.
Waters moves on in the shot and discus, having placed second in both. His shot put was 39 feet, 5.5 inches. In the discus, Waters threw for 122-3.
Mikel Friedlander, Mary Ann Matheson, and Katelynn Schilling will all move on in one event. Friedlander will compete in the 400, in which she placed fourth in 70.59. Matheson heads to districts in the 3200 where she placed third Thursday in 14:10.63 seconds.
Freshman Schilling will not be moving on in shot put, but instead will compete Saturday in the discus as she placed fourth in Oroville with a throw of 84-10.
The Central Washington 2B Districts meet will start at 11 a.m. at Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee.
All races and field events will be finals as there will be only eight competitors in each event. The top four boys and top three girls will then move on to the state championships in Cheney next weekend.
