Willice (Will) A. Pendell Jr.

Willice (Will) A. Pendell Jr. passed away peacefully, of natural causes, at his home in Spokane, Thursday, May 17, 2012. He was 77 years old.

Will was born on August 9, 1934, to Willice A. Pendell and Myrtle Everets Smith Pendell in Spokane. He was the 10th of 11 children. Will had six sisters: Rose, Lavine, Hattie, Myrtle, Gladys, and Evelyn; and four brothers: Davis, Eugene, Ross and James.

Will loved all types of animals, especially horses. He liked outings of all kind, especially to restaurants, since he loved to eat. Chinese food was one of his favorites. He also loved ice cream and anything made with chocolate. He would drink coffee all day and all night long and still sleep like a baby. He loved western music, dancing, and rodeos. He loved little children and reading. He liked playing cards, especially pinochle, though he didn’t have much patience with beginning card players. He was on the shy side, but still loved being in the center of things. He was a gentle, kind soul and would make friends easily. He always had a smile for everyone.

Will is survived by two sons: Willice and Todd, both of Spokane, and one daughter Debi of Walla Walla. He has five grandchildren: Kimberly (Jason), and Michael, all of Orlando, Fla., Robert (Sarah), of Bothell, Christina and Katie, both of Wenatchee, and five great-grandchildren: Alex, Andrew, Madison, Jack, and Nora.

Will was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, two wives, and an infant daughter.

A private family memorial will be held in Spokane at a later date.
