School district makes personnel changes

The Grand Coulee Dam School District directors approved personnel issues at their meeting June 25.

Renewals were approved for Sandy Davidson, accounts payable; Peggy Day, special education secretary; Lee Seekiins, 21st Century grant director; Mandi Strocsher, payroll/personnel director; Sue Hinton, Center School principal; Lisa Lakin, middle school principal; and Brad Wilson, Lake Roosevelt High School principal.

Coaching assignments approved included: Lori Adkins, high school varsity track and high school winter cheer coach; Steve Archer, high school varsity tennis coach; Paul Braun, high school assistant varsity track; Brandon Byers, high school varsity baseball; James Caddy, middle school assistant girls’ basketball and middle school boys’ assistant basketball; Tristan Daniels, high school varsity softball; Gary Darnold, high school head varsity cross country and middle school head girls basketball; Steven Files, high school varsity golf; Steve Hood, high school varsity wrestling; Lee Largent, high school assistant wrestling; Johnny McNeil, middle school assistant football and middle school assistant track; Kate Olin, high school assistant varsity track; Geary Oliver, middle school head football; John Ootsey, high school assistant girls’ basketball; Nate Piturachsatit, middle school head track; Wallace Pleasants, high school varsity girls’ basketball and Ralph Rise, middle school head wrestling.

Total coach salaries approved by the board, $45,500.

Other personnel activity included three resignations. Lori Darnold resigned her paraprofessional position at the middle school to take a teaching position in Phoenix; Sheila Darnold resigned her middle school cheer coaching position and Robert Warter resigned as a bus driver to take a similar position in Othello.

Loren Whitehouse retired as a bus driver and Alisa Lind was granted a one-year leave from her second grade teaching position.

The board made three new hires: Andrea Sinclair was hired as a kindergarten teacher; Sarah Wapato was hired as a nurse at the middle school and David Browning was hired as a fifth-grade teacher at the middle school.
