Kennedy provided strong leadership

Letters to the Editor

I am a lifetime Okanogan County rancher, retired.

I spent 30 years in leadership positions representing the cattle industry at county, state, national and international levels.

As a 13-year member of the Okanogan County Noxious Weed Board, I learned how complicated it is to be run properly. We had to work with the DNR, public works, railroads, state highways, National Forest, Colville Tribe, game department and Canada and all kinds of different land ownerships.

As manager of the county noxious weed board, Sheilah Kennedy provided excellent leadership working all these agencies and the public.

Sheilah testified before Congress and acquired $300,000 several times to treat weeds on the Okanogan National Forest.

When we had an international weed tour to Canada, top U.S. Dept. of Agriculture officials stated Sheilah was the number one person in the U.S. on noxious weed issues.

Sheilah has the ability to provide the best leadership as an Okanogan County Commissioner. A vote for Sheilah Kennedy is a vote for a positive future or all of us.
