No parking area

A policeman takes evidence photos as a USBR firefighter stands by after a Coulee Dam man totaled his 2002 Mazda pickup Sunday when he ran over an embankment below the Visitor Center, his vehicle coming to rest in trees above the parking lot. Jerry Apodoca, 52, told police that he was coming down the hill on SR 155 when a car coming up the hill entered his lane of traffic. He said he hit the median to avoid crashing into the car as he crossed into the opposite lane, then veered off, leaving the roadway. Coulee Dam police are investigating.
