After 32 years, Dan Fagerlie is retiring Aug. 31 as WSU Ferry County and Colville Reservation Extension director-educator and 4-H agent, his office announced last week.
Fegrelie started in the area in 1980. He worked with 4-H leaders to build Ferry County 4-H into one of the strongest programs in the state, as well as having one the longest running 4-H Challenge Programs on the Colville Reservation. Working with the Colville Confederated Tribes, he opened a branch office in Nespelem.
On Sept. 22, the Ferry County Fair Association will host a retirement party starting at 4 p.m. at the Ferry County Fairgrounds, with a potluck dinner at 6 and music to follow.
