The Avon Lady Carolyn Lee (Wilbanks) Pachosa

Carolyn Lee Pachosa, 83 passed away at Brewster, Wash., on Monday, August 27, 2012. She was born in Lumber City, Ga., on January 1, 1929, to Howard and Rose Wilbanks. Carolyn adored her Aunt Bertha Lowery who helped raise her. Her father Howard married Alice Coley when Carolyn was about eight years old and this union produced 10 siblings whom she cherished.

Carolyn met the love of her life Jack while he was stationed in Georgia. She worked at the Army PX and Jack knew this southern peach was destined to be his wife. Carolyn and Jack were married on November 17, 1947, in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. They moved into a home Jack had built on Roosevelt Drive in Grand Coulee where they spent many happy years. Carolyn considered children a blessing and was blessed four times with the birth of Jack, Janice, Debbie and John.

She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and sang in the choir. Music was a great source of enjoyment in her life. Carolyn will forever be remembered as the “Avon Lady.” She was a people person and this hobby helped her keep in touch with those she truly enjoyed and cared about.

After the loss of her beloved Jack she found much comfort in her children and grandchildren. She attended the senior meal program where she met the last special man in her life Bill Dennis. After a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, her final years were spent in an assisted living home in Brewster, Wash.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Jack (Jeanne) Pachosa, Janice (John) Avey, Debbie (Vern) Crim, and John Pachosa; four sisters: Judy Kitchen, Mary (Dennis) Hogan, Sharon (Ron) Sumner, Kathy (Joe) Guerrio; two brothers: Bill (Sharon) Wilbanks and David Wilbanks; eight grandchildren: Justin Avey, Melanie (Ed) Dawson, Jared (Rebecca) Avey, Cody Crim, Connor Crim, Nathan Pachosa, James Pachosa, and Travis Pachosa; great-grandchildren: Adam and Brandon Pachosa, Sierra and Trent Dawson, Gabe, Timothy and Emma Goodwin, Jesse Avey, Brice Pachosa and her special cousin Buck Lowery.

She was preceded in death by her mother Rose Pucket and father Howard and mom Olice Wilbanks, her beloved husband Jack, four brothers; Bob Dean, Jim, Neil, and Danny Wilbanks and her beloved first-born grandchild Christopher Anthony Pachosa.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Henry’ Catholic Church or the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center Meal Program.
