Coulee Crapper a factor at Conconully

Several coulee area residents competed in last weekend’s outhouse races in Conconully, getting nixed in the end by a team from Japan.

Ian Waltermeyer, Dylan Tipps and Guy Payne, the Coulee Crapper team, won their first two heats in the “Bucket Race,” attaining the quarter finals before falling to Team Fartacus, from Bothell.

In the Family category, Guy Payne and Guy R. Payne teamed up with Adam Lange of Wenatchee to take first place, defeating Omak’s Geobel Septic in the opening heat and crushing the Chronicle CanDoo team in the semi-finals. They beat North Cascade Hardwood in the finals.

In the Extreme Challenge race, the coulee team won the first heat after the Chronicle CanDoo was disqualified, having failed to cross the finish line with both pushers and its pilot, TeAire Baier of Grand Coulee. The Crappers lost the second heat to Hawk House of Chehalis.

In the Men’s event, the crapper team took the first heat of Red Solo Cup of Poulsbo, Wash., but lost to Team Matsuir Toilett. That Japanese team was competing for a Nippon TV extreme sporting event television show that will air in the future in Japan.

Roger Harnack, publisher of the Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle and proud sponsor the Chronicle CanDoo team humbled by the Coulee Crapper effort, reported for this story.
