“Essentially if our jail has room we provide bed days in our facility for sentenced inmates from Adams County, Airway Heights, Department of Corrections, and Cheney,” he said. “This has worked very well and in fact has exceeded our expectations by bringing in over $200,000 for the county’s general fund since we started the program.”

Magers reported that deputies had responded to 5,431 calls in 2012, an increase of 11 percent over 2011.

Magers said a recent burglary in Sprague was solved in less than eight hours after the suspect’s photo was posted at the sheriff’s Facebook site http://www.facebook.com/WadeMagersLincolnCountySheriff.
