Police

3/4 - A woman on West Cardinal Road told police that someone is entering her house and taking items and exchanging others in their place. She said it has happened with her washing machine, vacuum cleaner and a host of items. She stated that someone had taken the long screws out of her door and replaced them with short ones to make access easier. The officer explained that her residence was in the county and that someone from the sheriff’s office in Grant County would investigate.

- A person reported cattle on Kruk Road. Police found that five calves had got out of a fenced pasture. Police got the calves back inside the fence.

3/5 - A person reported that someone had left a “threatening” message on his phone. Police are investigating.

- An Elmer City woman was pulled over at Hometown Pizza because one of her brake lights was out. The officer found that she had a suspended license and had four prior suspensions. Her vehicle was towed away because both of her passengers had also suspended licenses.

- An Electric City woman told police that she thought she heard someone out on her deck, then upon checking, found a bouquet of flowers on her windshield with a note attached.

- Someone removed the yoke off a transfer case of a 1997 F-250 truck in the Fuller used car lot sometime during the night hours. The owner said the yoke was worth about $750.

3/7 - An officer noticed open doors on an abandoned house on Weil Place. When entering, the officer found a number of empty beer cases and some fresh food. It was thought that people were using it as a party house. The owner said the house hadn’t been occupied for 20 years.

- A woman living on Section Place told officers that a woman at her residence said she had been attacked by zombies. When questioned, the woman said “no” and that “it was real quiet out.” The woman is known to police, the report stated, as a substance abuser. She requested a ride to a residence in Electric City.

- A woman on Sunny Drive reported that she found a stray dog, a red and white heeler/Australian mix. The officer took the dog to the vet clinic.

- Police responded to a report of an assault on Lakeview Boulevard in Grant County where a witness said two people fled the residence and headed toward Spokane Boulevard. Police picked up two suspects, and one kicked in a door of the patrol car. That suspect, who was wanted on California warrants, was arrested and taken to Grant County Jail.

- Plant Protection advised police that there was a fire on the rocks at Crescent Bay. Police found that some fishermen had started a fire near the water line. They were told they couldn’t have a fire in that area and put it out.

- An Electric City man reported to police that someone had forced open the back door to a home he owned on Goodfellow. The house was vacant at the time and the owner had secured the door with a screw.

3/8 - Police responded to a 911 call from a Dill Avenue location. A woman told police that she sat down on her cellphone and it accidentally dialed 911.

3/10 - Police stopped the driver of a go-cart on Alcan Road. The man had a suspended license and nearly wrecked the go-cart before he got it stopped. He is being charged with driving with a suspended license and negligent driving and was taken to Grant County Jail.

3/4 - Police were called to an apartment on River Drive after a tenant there said he heard a loud thump in an adjoining apartment. Police found that a couple had been arguing and that the woman had tripped while bringing her dog down some stairs.

- Police answered an alarm at the Colville Tribal Museum, but couldn’t find anything wrong at the location.

- Police found four females and a male trying to change a flat tire on a rental car. The officer assisted the group in changing the tire.

3/5 - A man from an Omak preservation company requested information on any complaints concerning a house on Birch Street. The man was advised of two code violations at the residence. The man said he represented the interests of a local bank and furnished police with pictures of damage done to the residence.

- A woman on Camas Street told police that someone had tried to break into her house while she was at work. Police found that a door had been damaged.

3/10 - Police were called to a residence on Williams Street in Elmer City to assist loading a patient into an ambulance.

- Police responded to a two-car, non-injury accident in the Coulee Dam Casino parking lot and assisted until Tribal Police arrived at the scene.
