Colorama
queen sets
busy
schedule
Erin Wieldraayer, the 2013 Colorama queen, has been busy ever since bening named to the position late last year, and she’s taking it seriously.
Speaking at the chamber of commerce luncheon last week, the Royal City 18-year-old outlined her plans for traveling on behalf of the Grand Coulee rodeo, naming 13 more rodeos and events she’ll attend from Colville to Colfax, Ritzville to Chelan, even Sedro Wooley, most with her horse, Daisy.
She also has her future pretty well mapped out. By this time next year, Wieldraayer plans to be a student at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City to become a geologist and work in the oil industry.
In the meantime, she’s made every Ridge Riders Club monthly meeting since last fall.
At a Ridge Riders fund raiser auction Monday night, the crowd pitched in more than $1,200 to help the Wieldraayers out with diesel costs.

meeting
There will be an information meeting for those interested in being vendors at this summer’s Grand Coulee Saturday Market. The meeting will be at Funzee’s (401 Midway Ave.) on Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m.
Wellness
Center
Update
Coulee Medical Center is working with a grant writer to find funds to pay a consultant to take the Coulee Regional Wellness Center effort to the next level.
Gary Leva has said he is willing to do the work, reported J. Scott Graham, CEO of Coulee Medical Center, at a commission meeting last Wednesday. Leva, a key developer of the Benewah Wellness Center in Idaho, wrote a report last year that concluded the market here could build and sustain such a community center.
