Lady Raiders softball team completes season sweep of Manson

The Lady Raiders completed the season sweep of the Manson Trojans on April 23 at Manson by the score of 12-2.

The game ended in the fifth inning because of the WIAA 10-run mercy rule.

Head Coach Jamie Lezard liked what he saw on the field.

The “Lady Raiders played good team ball offensively and defensively, batting .647 for the game,” he said.

Pitcher Ashley Lezard struck out 10 batters without giving up a walk. She backed up her pitching performance by batting .750 on the day.

Tristan Adolph and Savannah Marin also had great days at the plate, joining Lezard by also batting .750 on the day.

Coach Lezard is thrilled at the improvement he saw in his squad.

“The team is showing a lot of growth since first practice,” Coach Lezard said. “We are still learning as a young group, but team skills are improving daily.”

The Lady Raiders will have a busy week, playing five games at home starting Monday with a doubleheader against the Bridgeport Filles. LR was scheduled to play the Oroville Hornets in single game again at home yesterday. Finally, on Saturday starting at 11 a.m., the Lady Raiders will host the Pateros Nannies in doubleheader action at Grand Coulee Dam Middle School.
