Special filing period to open

Offices not sought need candidates

Okanogan County announced a special three-day filing period, June 26-28, for a variety of positions not filed for during the regular election filing period.

In Nespelem two council positions will be open.

Council position 2, currently held by Dennis Montes, is open for a two-year term. And council position 3, currently held by Dawn Ensminger, is open for a four-year term.

In Elmer City, council position 2, held by Gail Morin, will be open for a four-year term. Morin filed for mayor.

In Okanogan County Fire District 2, the position currently held by Lloyd Olbricht is open for a four-year term.

The Coulee Area Park & Recreation District has three positions that will be open: Commissioner position 1, currently held by Carla Marconi, a two-year term, will be open; position 4, now held by Clarice A. Michel Kuehne, a four-year term, is open; and position 5, held by Mike Bjorklund, a four-year term will be open.
