4-H has new hands-on programs

June, 2013 – The WSU Colville Reservation-Ferry County Extension 4-H Challenge program is an experiential learning and youth development program where groups participate in hands-on experiences that focus on leadership, citizenship and life skills development. These experiences will be facilitated by certified volunteers and/or staff. If transportation is an issue, a volunteer or staff member can bring portable challenge activities to you!

Summer is the time to schedule your group’s very own 4-H Challenge experience! The low ropes course is ready for your group. If your group wants more of a water experience, then our canoe programming is for you. Groups can contact Kayla Wells, WSU Colville Reservation-Ferry County 4-H Challenge Coordinator, to schedule days on the canoes or on the low ropes course.

All groups are welcome to schedule time for 4-H Challenge activities. Evaluations reveal that nearly all participants in our 4-H Challenge program demonstrate improvements in the following life skills: self-confidence, responsibility, willingness to take appropriate physical and emotional risks, ability to work together as a group, communication, decision making, and problem solving skills. If your group needs to work on any of those life skills, call now to schedule your experience!
