Glenn D. Stauffer

Glenn Dee Stauffer, 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2013. He was born on May 24, 1942, to Alvin Godfrey Stauffer and Rachel Della Rindlisbacher in Ogden, Utah. Glenn graduated from Weber High School in 1960 after which he attended Weber State College. In 1966 Glenn enlisted in the Army Reserves from which he retired after 22 years of active service. He remained on the active retired list for another 10 years. He married Deborah (Debbie) Mae Ludwig on December 9, 1966. Glenn and Debbie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on December 9, 1968.

After living the first 10 years of their married life in Wilson Lane, Glenn and Debbie moved their family to Electric City, WA. Having spent 23 years in Washington and having raised their 4 children, they moved to Brigham City, Utah in 2004.

Glenn was active all of his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and hanging out with the “Wilson Boys”. Together they enjoyed many years of doing the mischievous things that boys do. Those young men grew into fine men and remain good friends to this day.

Glenn was employed with the U.S. Government at Hill AFB, DDO and the Grand Coulee Dam. He retired after 32 years of service.

Glenn was active in his church and dedicated many years of service to the Lord’s work. He was faithful in all of his callings which included a full time mission to the Eastern States Mission, Bishop and various other positions.

He enjoyed spending time with his family especially working alongside his brother Von. Von and Glenn spent quality time together milking cows, hauling hay, working at the gas station and driving wrecker.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Debbie, children Julie (Kevin) Ledford, Geri (Chris) Hofman, Jared (Ingrid) Stauffer and Joel Stauffer, 11 grand-children and 3 sisters: Shirley Hamblin, Thelda Shurtz and Fae Young.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Sheldon and Von.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Leavitts’ Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, where also friends may visit with the family Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 11:45-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
