Ronald Edward Haven

February 23, 1960 - June 17, 2013

Ronnie E. Haven (53) became our guardian angel on June 17, 2013. Ron was born on February 23, 1960 in Coulee Dam, Wash. to Ed and Carolyn Haven, and eventually became big brother to Gary Haven. Growing up in the Grand Coulee area, Ronne, lived his youth to the fullest, graduating from Lake Roosevelt High School with the class of 1978. Afterwards, he moved on to join the Local 14 Iron Workers Association in Spokane, Wash. Iron working soon became his career of choice. Ron decided to transfer to Local 86 in Seattle and worked hard for “Coastal Steel” where he eventually became a part-owner. Ron was extremely proud of his company, from which he was able to retire at the lucky age of 52. Though he loved his 1969 Chevy Chevelle, it was a well known fact that Ron’s children - Rachelle and Ryan Haven were his biggest pride and greatest joy. Ron enjoyed many years of quality time with his kids.

Ron will be survived by his father Ed; mother Carolyn; brother Gary; children: Rachelle and Ryan and nephews: Taylor and Travis.

At Ronnie’s request, cremation has taken place. As Ron’s future plans were to return from Sumner, WA and make the Coulee area his home once again, his kids will bring him back home to rest at Spring Canyon Cemetery following a celebration of his life at 1 p.m., on Saturday June 29, 2013, at Strate Funeral Chapel in Grand Coulee. The Eagles Lodge of Grand Coulee will host a reception for Ron’s family and friends following his services.

Strate Funeral Chapel of Grand Coulee is honored to be serving Ronnie’s family.
