You can come casual, but dress up your pet for the chamber of commerce’s first-ever “Harvest Festival” at North Dam Park Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14.

There’s a costume pet show, so brush your pet and dress it up for the Saturday 11 a.m. to noon pet show contest.
Organizers say that you can dress up also, if you want, and lead your pet around the show area.
There’s a lot of activity for young and old, and even those in between.
You might be interested in the community-wide yard sale at North Dam Park, Friday noon to dusk and Saturday from 8 a.m. to dusk.
If you don’t want to take part in the pet costume contest, then there is the petting zoo. There will be animals for the kids to pet and marvel at from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The chamber promises some alpacas, sheep, horses, donkeys and more.
Saturday will feature hay rides from 10-4.
And for the artists, or would-be artists, there will be “chalk art in the park,” and the chalk will be provided from 1-4 on Saturday at the skateboard area.
The Rotary Club plans a barbecue of hot dogs, German sausages and side dishes Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
And just for adults, a beer garden will be available from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
