Dakotah Steven “Koda-Bear” Holt
Dakotah Steven “Koda-Bear” Holt was born November 2, 1992, in Spokane, Wash., and left us much too soon Thursday, August 29, 2013, while doing the work he loved as a lineman in rural Medicine Lodge, Kan.
Koda-Bear was a 2011 graduate of Lake Roosevelt High School where he excelled in football, basketball, wrestling and golf as a player and coach. Following high school, Dakotah completed the course of studies at Northwestern Lineman College in Meridian, Idaho, beginning employment with “Track Utilities” in January of this year.
In addition to sports of all kinds, Koda-Bear loved spending time with his brothers in the out-of-doors hunting and especially fishing. The only time Dakotah was ever heard to complain after a fishing trip was on those occasions when he was out-fished!
A member of Grand Coulee’s St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Koda-Bear is survived and greatly missed by his loving family – mother Stephanie Anderson (John Pachosa); father Steve Holt (Gena); siblings: Jared Holt, Kyle Holt, Colton Fisher, Scott Abrahamson and Brooklyn Barker; grandparents: Andy and Marie Anderson, Arnie and Carmen Holt and Sue and David Palmer as well as many – many other extended family members.
Cremation has taken place. A recitation of the Rosary was be conducted for Dakotah at Grand Coulee’s St. Henry’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, followed by a 11 a.m. Memorial Mass on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
