Obituary

Mamoru Rock Ar-Sikh Hewitt (21) left us from his Manson, Wash., home during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 15, 2013. Mamoru, who began his earthly journey March 7, 1992, in Honolulu, Hawaii, attended high school in Wilbur, Wash.. where he was a member of the Wilbur Wildcats football and basketball teams, before attending Salish Kootenai College in Nespelem, Wash. His work at the Manson Mountainview Lodge was more than a job to Mamoru, his fellow workers became like a second family to him. Mamoru enjoyed basketball, watching UFC at every opportunity, playing “Texas Holdem” and working out at the gym. A man who greatly valued his time with friends, Mamoru especially cherished time spent with his “Shining Star” niece – Josephine and loved trying to beat his mom at fishing (which didn’t happen very often!).

Mamoru is preceded in passing by grandpa Joseph Moses and his uncle John “Tuck” Edwards. He is loved and will forever be missed by his parents: Julie (Michael) Edwards and Clark Philip Hewitt Jr .; grandparents: Fred and Cynthia Manuel, Clark and Akiko Hewitt Sr. and Bertha Matt; sisters: Lisa (Jacob) Cleveland, Sara Palmer-Janvier and Billie Lee Edwards; brothers: Joshua Ibanez Esquejo, Anthony Edwards and Kevin Edwards; aunts and uncles: Renita Brooks, Mary Brannon, Tim Edwards, Lori (Bernard) Charley, Susan (Dennis) Best, John Garr and Michelle Matt, Brian Edwards, William Hewitt, Jyuji Hewitt, Timothy Hewitt, Patrick Hewitt, Mary Brannon, Therese Toth, and Joe Hewitt; nieces and nephews: Josephine Cleveland, Jered Cleveland, Jasmine Brooks and Lasane Brooks; cousins: Brian Brooks, Samuel Brooks, Tiffany Johnson, Candace Johnson and Isaiah Johnson as well as Mamoru’s many friends.

Memorial Services for Mamoru were held at the Nespelem Community Center in Nespelem, Washington on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 7 p.m., followed with a 10 a.m, memorial service on Friday, September 20, 2013. Cremation has taken place.
