Time for new leadership

I read the letter to The Star written by Mayor Snow’s daughter and asked Mr. Wilder if he was going to respond, and he said that he “wasn’t going to argue or debate the issues with a father’s daughter or any other stand-in!” And he asked me, “Where is the mayor himself? What does HE have to say?”

Mr. Wilder is right; we never really seem to know where Mayor Snow stands on the issues. We want a more open government with fair and impartial leaders willing to actually listen to their constituents and to think the important issues through.

And regardless of the finger-pointing or “fault,” it is nevertheless true; under Mayor Snow our community swimming pool WAS closed, our utility rates HAVE gone through the roof, the Treatment Plant project WAS ramrodded through, and our ability to participate in council meetings HAS been diminished. Sixteen years is long enough and Coulee Dam needs a different way of looking at things and we need a new and different kind of leader.

Mr. Wilder has gone to bat for us, fighting the expensive Treatment Plant project. He has stepped up and put untold hours into causing the community and the Tribes and various state and federal agencies to start thinking about other more cost-effective options. He has shown the experience and leadership that I think will help us. Regardless of other “issues” this alone is enough to convince me to support Greg Wilder in his bid for our mayor!
