Chamber Meeting
The Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce will not hold its noon meeting this week because of the After Hours event/ribbon cutting ceremony
Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Starkey Professional building, 17 Midway Ave., Grand Coulee.
CMC Guild
The Coulee Medical Center Guild (auxiliary) will hold regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. The next scheduled meeting and lunch is November 19 at noon at CMC. The Guild is in need of new members. Please join us. For information call 633-0405.
Singers Wanted
The Coulee Community Choir meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Singers are welcome. Come and check it out.
OES to Meet and Official Visit Planned
Order of Evening Star will hold its regular stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. It will be long form opening. And after refreshments provided by Mara Landrum, set-up for the official visit will be done. Dress in costumes.
The official visit of Worthy Grand Matron with Evening Star Chapter Coulee Dam will be held Friday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. Soup, salad and bread dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Set up for North Central Washington All Stars. Brunch after refreshments.
Society to
hold book social
Okanogan County Historical Society is holding a Matsura centennial book social Friday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at RockWall Cellars, 110 Nichols Rd., Omak.
Hors d’oeuvres will be provided and there will be a no-host wine bar.
Those who have preordered the coffee table book will be able to make the final payment and pick up their book at this event.
The book on the county’s famous historical photographer is a special handmade limited edition printing; however, there are a few books still available.

Friday Story Time
The Grand Coulee Library Story time is every Friday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Mondays and Thursdays 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays 12:30 - 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. For information concerning library programs or services call 633-0972.
TOPS Meetings
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. at Grand Coulee Senior Center prior to the exercise group gathering at 10 a.m. Come and join for the health of it.
TOPS#WA1490, Coulee Dam meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., meeting following weigh in downstairs in the ground level fellowship hall in the Coulee Dam Community Presbyterian Church, 509 Central Ave., across from the Colville Tribal Museum. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit weight loss organization.
A new morning chapter will be held on Wednesday mornings with weigh-in at 7:45 a.m., and a meeting at 8 a.m. It will also be held at the Coulee Dam Community Church-Presbyterian.
Eagles #2577 Meetings
The Eagles #2577 Aerie meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is
November 12, at 7 p.m. The Auxiliary meets the first and third Tuesday of every month. Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Pinochle at the Seniors
Free pinochle is offered at the Grand Coulee Senior Center Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
Care and Share Food Bank Open
The food bank at the Church of the Nazarene normal operating hours are every Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. It is located at the Church of Nazarene, hwy 174, Grand Coulee. The bank still can use clean plastic grocery bags.
Local AA Meetings
Confused in the Coulee AA meetings are held on Mondays at 7 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.. at the Vets Center in Electric City. Call Paul 633-3377 days or 633-3345 evenings. New Hope Group meetings are held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Vets Center. For more information call John 633-2448. These are open and non-smoking.
In Nespelem the group Bound and Determined holds its meetings Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Catholic Church. Contact Myrna 634-4921 for more information there.
Seniors Have Wheelchairs, Crutches Available
Through the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center a program is available to members and other persons who for a short time need a wheel chair, walkers, crutches, canes, bath stools and other items of this type.
For those who have any of the above items that are from the center and no longer used please return. If you have any of the above items in good condition and would like to donate them to the center, it would be extremely appreciated. For those who cannot deliver, pickup is available. Call 633-2321 for more information.
