Lady Raiders lose to Trojans

The Lady Raiders travelled to Manson looking for league win number two last week, but slipped from a two-game lead in a letdown that led to the Trojans winning the match in five games 3-2.

Raider Head Coach Nate Piturachsatit liked how the team started out the match and praised his setters.

"Mikel Friedlander and Kayley Duclos set very consistently for us, which allowed us to make some strong offensive plays," he said.

But the poor play on the court and the turnaround loss in five games upset the coach. It was the subject of a locker room chat.

"We had a good conversation after the game, and I am hoping they understand what happened and that we can overcome it with some quality practices."

LR served 82 percent for the night with 16 aces. Chyenne Kelly-Marconi and Holly Jo Carriere both led the team in serving with five aces apiece. The Lady Raiders also had 26 kills with Kelly-Marconi again leading the team with eight. Holly Jo Carriere had five kills for the night, and Kammi Rosenbaum, Kassadi Boutain, and Kayley Duclos each had three kills. Kayley Duclos set for 13 assists and Mikel Friedlander set 12 assists.

Last night was Senior Night for the Lady Raiders against Liberty Bell. For the Lady Raiders it was the last match of the season. Liberty Bell came in second in the Central Washington North with a 5-2 league record and 10-4 overall.

Game score for the Manson match:
