David Charles "Charlie" Quill

Obituary

David Charles “Charley” Quill, 66, of Coulee Dam, Wash., passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 25, 2014, at Coulee Dam Medical Center, surrounded by family.

Born July 26, 1947, at the Nespelem Hospital to Jerome and Mae (Carson) Quill, he was the youngest of five children.

He attended school at St. Mary’s Mission and later studied culinary arts and became trained as a chef.

A jack of all trades, Charley wore many hats;  from manning the first ambulance service for the Colville Tribal EMS, he finished his career as Game 12 for the Tribal Fish and Wildlife Department.

He enjoyed life, had many adventures and made many dear friends along the way.

Charley is survived by his wife of 31 years Katie and his children: Willis Quill, Marica Quill (JT), Shelly Rose (Shelby), and Cassandra Forristall (LeRoy); five grandchildren: Takeyla Farley (Dakota), Morgan Rose (Bridger), Cody Rose, Tristen Charles Dean Rose the Fourth and Jeffery Gallaher;  two great-grandchildren: Evalett Marie Farley and Kaine Lee Rose-Gordon;  two brothers Jerome “Porky” Quill and Patrick Quill;  two sisters Darlene Allen (Mervel) and Maryann Palmanteer and numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request, no services will be held.  There was an honor ceremony/viewing at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Funeral Home at 1 p.m., on Tuesday Jan. 28, 2014.  All were welcome to attend.  There will be a memorial dinner at a later date.

We will always love and miss you, “Tunalu”.
